反應型MS密封膠是在抑制化學反應的條件下，加熱熔融成流體，以便于涂敷，冷卻后膠凝起到粘接作用，之后借助于存在空氣中或者被粘體表面的濕氣與之反應、擴鏈，生成具有高內聚力的高分子聚合物，使粘合力、耐熱性等進一步提高。這種反應型MS密封膠是含有反應性基團的熱塑性樹脂膠粘劑，它的主體成分是端-NCO預聚體，配以與異氰酸醋基不反應的熱塑性樹脂和增粘樹脂以及抗氧劑、催化、士曾塑劑、阻燃劑、防霉劑、填料等制成。反應型MS密封膠主要在汽車頂棚、儀表板、行李箱蓋、側裝飾條以及車燈中得到應用。此外，也可將其用于車門復合裝飾件、PP, ABS,聚碳酸醋車燈罩粘接固定、貨物箱箱板復合、車內裝飾件粘接等。近年來，反應型MS密封膠用于汽車風擋玻璃直接粘接也有報道，但要達到單組分濕氣固化PU風擋膠的性能尚有許多研究工作要做。
單組分濕氣固化PU風擋玻璃膠由于含有活潑的-NC O基團，能與被粘面上或空氣中的微量水分發生反應而固化，要求對濕氣敏感，固化速度快，固化后又要保持優良的彈性，而且要求為單包裝，貯存穩定性好。它是汽車用膠中技術含量較高的產品，也是目前我國汽車用MS密封膠類中用量較大的品種。將汽車風擋玻璃直接粘接到車體的工藝始于20世紀60年代的美國。單組分濕氣固化MS密封膠粘劑最先由美國ESSEX化學公司在20世紀70年代初研制成功，并成功應用于美國通用汽車，1976年奧迪汽車公司也在奧迪C2車型上應用。隨后日本及其他歐洲汽車廠家相繼采用風擋玻璃的直接粘接工藝。由于施工簡便并采用機械施膠，目前世界上95%以上風擋玻璃及側窗玻璃的粘接采用這種膠粘劑。單組分濕氣固化PU風擋膠粘劑，急需開發固化速度快、可紫外線固化和對濕度不敏感的聚氨醋風擋玻璃膠粘劑以取代進口。采用這種玻璃粘接密封工藝，能使風擋玻璃和車身緊密地結合成一個整體，增加了車體剛性及抗扭曲能力，又保證了密封效果。美國聯邦汽車安全標準((FMV SS)第212項規定，汽車以S Okm/h速度與混凝土墻壁沖撞時，風擋玻璃的粘接完整率必須在75%以上。目前美、日、德、法等和我國在轎車風擋玻璃的安裝中幾乎全部采用此工藝，同時在客車的風擋和側窗玻璃也大多采用了粘接方法。www.16878m.com
